Wabi-sabi inspired cherry wood side table

After reading a book on wabi-sabi aesthetics I set out to design this project as a challenge to use scrap material sitting in my studio. It’s a side table or, entry way table with two soft close drawers and open bottom for display or storage. The rear is painted as well with the intent for the ability to place it in a room where it may float at the end of a sectional and be visible from the rear. The legs were hand shaped and meant to be seen as a complement, rather than cheap foot attachments which are meant to be hidden. The drawer pulls were also hand carved rather than bringing in another material to complicate the design.
